Yesterday, I found out I am a quarterfinalist for my script The Loss of Silence in the Write Movies competition. The Loss of Silence is a script I wrote during the start of the pandemic. I was furloughed from my regular job at the time and had time to write and take my time with the script. I always wanted to write a script in Shakespearean verse and had always loved his play Macbeth. (I had studied Macbeth in High School literature class and much later performed in the opera version of the play at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City in French. In my script, the first scene introduces Three Weird Sisters (or witches), in homage to Shakespeare. The setting is not in Scotland in 1606 however but rather a hundred years later, soon after the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts.
